Structure

Level structure

The first level consists of gas detectors, all related sensors and the GEOCOMP Interface unit, in which the sensor data are converted into standard signals and in which the intrinsic safety is realized.

The second level of the system converts all data into physical units and organizes the online printing and displaying of all data. All calibrations and service adjustments are made via membrane keyboards on GEOCOMP-2 and GEOCOMP-3.

Level 1 and level 2 together can work independent and are fully automatic working systems.

The received and converted data are transferred online to the GEOCOMP DATA TERMINAL.

One or more DATA TERMINALS can be connected one after the other and both collect and store the data simultaneously. They work independent from each other.

Philosophy of Operation

GEOCOMP-2 and GEOCOMP-3 are equipped with an alpha- numeric screen, which supports and guides the operator.

The on-screen instructions are clear and the keys are locked against wrong operations. Wrong operating is almost impossible. The service inputs are protected by password to prevent untrained personnel entering this complex.

The DATA TERMINAL is using windows technique for guiding the operator safely.

Data Scanning

The scanning of received data works parallel on the multi channel input circuits of the GEOCOMP-2 and GEOCOMP-3 and performs multitasking jobs.

The operational software which is stored on EPROM's, checks the data and after acceptance and after elimination of electric disturbances the data are guided to the related signal channel.

The conversion into physical units and on-line printout as well as displaying on the screen of GEOCOMPs is performed simultaneously.
