The instrument is equipped with two Flame Ionisation Detectors (FID) and works fully automatic.
It is controlled by GEOCOMP-2, which is the basic online computer of the GEOCOMP family.
Results are transferred to GEOCOMP-2, converted into readable physical units (ppm or %) and printed on a semi logarithmic paper versus depth and versus time.
GEOCOMP-2 furthermore takes care on the proper function of the 2-channel GC plus TGD.
Calibration is made fully menu- guided and automatically stored in GEOCOMP-2. The selected column and the intelligent pneumatic design gives a very stable and reliable performance. This design and material makes recalibration unnecessary within one operational period.
A complex safety system protects the GEOCOMP GC and TGD against uncontrolled escape of hydrogen.
